The initial survey identified signs of structural movement and following further investigation slenderness and lateral restraint issues in the gable wall became apparent. A sequence of prudent remedial measures was then determined to ensure the long term stability of the structure.

As the building was grade 2 listed, the scope of remedial and restoration work was developed in consultation with the local authorities listed building officer and included partial dismantling and rebuilding of the gable wall incorporating structural reinforcement. The two gable chimneys were also taken down and rebuilt, the other chimneys were either partially rebuilt or repaired following detailed assessment.

Services provided included; building surveying, production of specification in conjunction with structural engineer, project management, building contract administration, construction monitoring and obtaining listed building consents.
